Re: Advice on the use of paracetamol to manage fever and pain in pregnancy
Following President Trump’s claims about links between Paracetamol & Autism, Miss Chrissie Yu advises the following:
“Paracetamol remains the recommended first-line option for pain relief and fever management in pregnancy. UK authorities have never advised against its use.
In the UK the NHS advises it is safe, the RCOG advises it is safe, and the UK Health Secretary has also said women should continue following that guidance. The MHRA came out yesterday ahead of President Trump’s announcement to say that paracetamol is still safe in pregnancy.
I will continue prescribing Paracetamol to my patients where required.

Thank you.
Chrissie
