Our fertility check is designed to help you understand your fertility status and ability to conceive. It can also be a first step in deciding whether to delay having a baby until the time is right or consider egg freezing for the future. Understanding your fertility health early on can bring peace of mind and more time to explore your options.
What to expect at your appointment:
- Consultation with Dr Hayes
- Detailed discussion of medical history and personal health concerns
- Abdominal and pelvic examination
- Blood tests:
Day 2-5
- AMH
- FSH
- LH
- Oestradiol
- Prolactin
- Thyroid function
- Vitamin D
Day 21
- Progesterone
- Prescription arrangement
- Written medical report
- Written notification of all test results
Enhanced fertility check:
- Vaginal swab to check for bacterial infections: £100
- Vaginal swab to check for 7 sexually transmitted infections and diseases: £250
- Cervical HPV screen: £150
Cytology screening on request or as required +£50
Additional referral options:
- Pelvic ultrasound scan
- HyCoSy scan (a specialist scan to assess the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes)
Additional tests can be added at your request or Dr Hayes’ recommendation. Please note additional fees may apply.
Please note the above fees are only applicable to self-paying patients. Additional hospital fees may also apply and will be billed to you direct by the Portland Hospital. For further information, please contact the PA team.
